  9. This Driver Diskette includes the following device driver:

  12. This Readme provides the following information:

  14. 1.1 Installing "IBM THINKPAD 555MB" Using Driver Disk
  15. 1.2 Support for TMC-850IBM SCSI Host Adapters
  16.

  18. 1.1 INSTALLING "IBM THINKPAD 555MB" USING DRIVER DISK
  19.     To install the device driver, follow these steps:
  20.     1. "Select one of any backup device ... from the Utilities".
  21.     2. Insert this diskette into your diskette drive, and
  22.        select [Driver Disk].
  23.     3. In the "Load Device Drivers Diskette" window, enter
  24.        the letter that represents your drive (A: is the
  25.        default), and select [OK].
  26.     4. At the "Select Backup Device Drivers" window, select
  27.        the driver name and choose [OK].
  28.     5. To add the device to the backup device list, select
  29.        "Add new device" at the "Backup device setup..."
  30.        window.
  31.     6. Configure the backup device using instructions in the
  32.        Sytos Plus User's Guide.

  34.     Ensure that the SCSI adapter driver is installed as
  35.     described in the following section.

  38. 1.2 SUPPORT FOR TMC-850IBM SCSI HOST ADAPTERS
  39.     Currently this release of Sytos Plus provides support for the
  40.     model TMC-850IBM SCSI host adapter.  Future support 
  41.     will follow.  If your backup device requires a SCSI host 
  42.     adapter, check that the following lines are in CONFIG.SYS:
  43.  
  44.        DEVICE=[drive:]\[pathname]\DCAM950.EXE
  45.        DEVICE=[drive:]\[pathname]\ASPIFCAM.SYS
  46.  
  47.     where [drive:\[pathname] is the directory where the
  48.     SCSI host adapter drivers exist.
  49.  
  50.     If the lines for the SCSI driver do not exist in
  51.     CONFIG.SYS, you must add them.  The following is an
  52.     example CONFIG.SYS entry for an 8-bit adapter driver
  53.     installed in the root directory:
  54.         DEVICE=C:\DCAM950.EXE / CA00 3
  55.     The DEVICE= line must include the memory address and
  56.     interrupt line number (IRQ) for each 8-bit SCSI
  57.     adapter installed.
  58.     
  59.      a. Check your CONFIG.SYS file to ensure that the
  60.         DEVICE= line for DCAM950.EXE includes the memory
  61.         address and interrupt line number (IRQ) for each
  62.         8-bit adapter.  If you installed more than one
  63.         adapter, the memory address and IRQ can be listed on
  64.         one line as shown below:
  65.           DEVICE=C:\DCAM950.EXE /xxxx i /xxxx i
  66.         where "/xxxx" is the memory address and "i" is the
  67.         IRQ number.  Possible memory addresses include
  68.         /CA00, /C800, /CE00, and /DE00.  Possible IRQ
  69.         numbers include 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 12, 14, and 15.
  70.      b. Reboot your system so that the changes to CONFIG.SYS
  71.         can take effect.
